Harbor House is open to any person who has been diagnosed with a mental illness. Membership also means being at least 18 years of age as this is a club for adults and members need to provide their own transportation, to attend.
It is a voluntary program where members work on their recovery at their own pace through a combination of working with their advisor, being part of a unit, and accessing our services such as housing, employment, education.
How to become a Member of Harbor House:
Step 1: Contact us at 401-273-5100. An informal tour will be scheduled for you.
Step 2: After having the tour, you will be asked to have a referral form completed by a medical professional/social worker.
Step 3: The completed form may be delivered in person or mailed to PO Box 9287, Providence, RI 02940 (Attn: Membership)
Step 4: After the referral form is reviewed, you will be contacted by phone to arrange an orientation.
Orientations are scheduled every other week. New members are asked to select a staff advisor and unit to work when in the clubhouse.
