The Clubhouse program operates on a work-ordered day in a supportive environment that includes vocational, educational, and other services to Rhode Island residents whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness.
Harbor House will initially welcome about 25 members, beginning in March, and it expects to grow quickly. Members will be both community and self-referrals, regardless of ability to pay.
Clubhouse membership is lifelong and free.
Members of Harbor House are responsible for organizing and operating the facility with the support of a small professional staff. At the Clubhouse, Members will engage in a variety of work experiences. They will be able to try several transitional employment placements outside the Clubhouse, or move on to independent employment where they will be given help to acquire a job, with Clubhouse support for as long as needed.
